Driver's Ed Program

As a student of the driving school you will need to complete a full course, consisting of:


-30 hour indoor classroom
-12 hours on-road private lessons
-6 observation lessons
-2 hour parent class

If a student needs to miss a day of indoor classroom they can make it up during another session. If you miss a class you will have to make it up before attending class 10, which is the test. The indoor classroom and driving are taken at separate times, driving lessons will be scheduled with an instructor by the students availability. We do not do scheduling for on-road lessons in the office, you will have to call your instructor for any cancellations or schedule changes. Students may only be in the car for up to 2 hours a day. We do on-road lessons Monday-Saturday at varying times. Students will be dropped off wherever they ask, unless notified otherwise by the parents request. On-road appointments must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance. If a student fails to do so, they will be charged $20 for each missed appointment. Our parent classes are held once a month at the beginning of every month. The hours for the parent class are 6:30-8:30pm. Please visit our schedule page for exact dates.

Once all of these requirements have been fulfilled and all payments have been made, we will send for an insurance certificate. This certificate will get you your discount on auto insurance and is also needed to book a road test if you are under 18. It can take anywhere from 1-5 business days for the certificate to get into the computer at the RMV once we have sent for it. You cannot schedule a road test until this is in the RMV’s computer database.


Road Test


We also provide road test sponsorship. This will include the driving school scheduling the appointment, pick-up if you live in Westfield, a vehicle rental for the test, a warm-up lesson, and an instructor will be their sponsor. You must have your permit for at least 6 months before you are eligible to take the road test. Road test appointments are scheduled on Fridays at the Westfield City Hall. Appointments have to be made in advance, not at the last minute as the schedule fills up quickly. If there is a specific date that the student is requesting or they want to go as soon as they are eligible, they must complete the entire course and be paid in full at least 4-5 weeks before that date. This should allow ample time for the certificate to go in the computer and to get an appointment on a specific day.
